7:00

Next week at this time I’ll be boarding the over-night bus from New Delhi to Dharamsala. I imagine I’ll be about half crazy with jet lag and hunger by then. Remember! I’ll be 12.5 hours ahead of Mountain Time Zone. Huh? Yeah. I know. I didn’t know time zones came in halves either. And I thought I knew everything. *snort*. Tonight is clean out the car and throw out more clothes. Picked up my dysentery medications yesterday. I think the car title might have to wait until Tuesday. Darnit. Wanted as much done as possible before Linda and David got here.

Eye twitch gone. Thanks to my good buddy Tracy, I was given hinky voodoo on how to get rid of them. Gin and Tonics. OH NO! Not a gin and tonic! I merely threatened it. I’m in NO state to drink, trust me. More later today.

OH! OH! I could call this the Magical Mystery Tour! hahahhahahhahhahahah

3:00 p.m.

Laptop situation just ain’t looking good.  Still won’t recognize the internal battery at all.  I purchased new external and internal batteries for the trip.  Computer still dies 1 minute after I turn it on.  Opened it up to do surgery today and found NOTHING WRONG.  It’s heating up at a rapid pace as well.  The power cord is hot as can be…. Shoot.  SSOOOOOOO I might end up sans laptop about halfway through the trip.  But on a better note, if it ’s stolen, I won’t care.  Darn thing.  That’s not true.  I’d need my hard drive out of it before the thief took off.  I SOOOOOO don’t have $600 for a new laptop right now…..so what’s my lesson here?  Always make sure I know where the internet cafe’s are.

Thank you, eye twitch

Moonbat is now completely appropriate.  Had a MAGNIFICENT time at Judith and Terry’s last night.  Fixed Judith’s computer (almost done).  Jeffery came to dinner and gave us a little glimps of the recent development in his personal life, which I think is great!  Judith made an AMAZING summer dinner and my recovery from food poisoning Monday night seems to be complete because I could actually eat.  Brendan stopped by to pick up a school book and ended up staying for dinner and extensive Ireland chat.  Terry came armed to the teeth with more great stories (his specialty) AND the weather held.

How great is that?

9 days.

I thought for sure that when I hit single-digit numbers I’d have a little melt down of sorts.  Not true at all.  As I talked with Patrick on the phone last night he pointed out that I’m just very ready to go.  Part of me has already left.

Things I have left to do:  Find the title to the Corolla, decide between a yard sale and just taking everything I have left to the Longmont Humane Society, call my property manager and make sure I have the apartment until midnight on Sunday (at least).

Wow.  Short list.  If anyone can think of anything else I need to do before I leave, by all means, pipe up now!  I have NINE DAYS :-)

This past Saturday night was Dianne’s end of summer Luau.  Most of the core WINGS girls showed up for it.  Myself, Mary VS and her really nice husband John, Danelle and her husband Mark (charming Englishman # 1), Amy T and her two daughters and their dad, Tracey and her new BOYFRIEND and the new girl, Michelle, who is just funny as ever and sweet as pie.  We haven’t heard out of Pamela in so long we’re not sure if she’s in Mexico, at her cabin or just really tied up with Dr. Scott and the kids.

After 3.5 activity-filled days, my Mom and Dad are leaving to go back to Ohio this morning.  I gave them a car load of my junk and sent them on their way.

Oh man.

OH the Drama!

Friday, August 24th, 2007

Kittie drama is soooo hard to keep up with these days.   Mookie Biscuit is now Samson’s GIRLFRIEND.  What?  What happened with Princess Zoe?  Well, Zoe was a little too shy and Mookie snuck in and pushed her out.  Doh!

On the human front, I’ve decided that I’m too tired and stressed out for a yard sale, so I’m going to take all my junk to the Humane Society Thrift Store and drop it off tomorrow.  There.  Done.  Mom and Dad are here visiting.  We’re having fun Ohio style!

Girls Night!

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Yesterday after work, I got to spend time in Fort Collins with Jen Ivan.  The quote of the night “But you CAN’T go to India yet!  I haven’t tried you on with all my outfits!”  She and I are like peas in a pod.  She makes ME tired when I thought I was the one that had all the energy.  We had dinner at some Mexican place (can’t remember the name) and then went to an Arbonne party.  I realize that I was there to buy stuff and darnit if they didn’t TRY to sell me every last thing.  I didn’t care, I wasn’t buying.   But I DID manage to get a chair massage, a foot soak, a facial and a hand massage with clear coat to boot!  Jen got her makeup done and was stunning as we walked out the door to go home.  No booze was involved but there WAS a chocolate fountain with fruit and lemonade.  We really showed our age by heading straight to her house after the skin care festivities were over at 10:00 and practically falling asleep once we got in the door.  Thank goodness she had the guest room bed made up for me because I was exhausted and ready to hit the sack.

With 14 days left, I’m starting to get REALLY tired.  I haven’t slept well since I returned from taking the kitties to Everett, Washington.  The kitties made this home for me and it is no longer so.

And while I was in Fort Collins the book fairy stopped by and left me a juicy, good book, with a crisp $100 bill in it, hanging from the door knob of my apartment, in a King Soopers bag.  It was left anonymously but I’m pretty sure, by looking at the author of the book, I know who left it.  Thanks.  I really do appreciate it.  The book WILL be read, probably on the plane, and the cash will buy me lots of cute, pink Smart Wool socks that are needed for the trip.

Yesterday was quite a day.  I’m going to try to get some sleep tonight.  I’m beat and the parental units are landing in Longmont tomorrow afternoon.  I have to have my “A game” on when they get here.  :-)

Just call me Moonbat

I have noticed a marked increase in “coincidental happenings” and out and out strange incidences lately.  Will follow up on that thought later.  Suddenly, I have to work.  Ugh.

I am nearly out the door!

Tore into the envelope that DHL delivered to my desk while I was in Everett.  It is what I prayed for, my passport with a one-page Visa sticker that says I am permitted to enter India as of 13 August, 2007 and have to get my arse OUT of India by 12 August, 2008.  Life doesn’t get much better than this.  Oh wait….I think I won the spider wars in my apartment.

After not being able to sleep in my own bed for 2 nights, almost moving to a hotel and having spiders attack me at every turn, I went to the store last night and purchased BUG BOMBS.  I was trying soooo hard to live with them but after remembering that I had a spider bite 2 weeks ago that made me sick….I had to fight back.   And fight back I did.  Even the spider down stairs in the entry way to the house made a beeline out of dodge.  SO THERE.  I’m tired and cranky.  Don’t bug me.  Yeah.  I went for the pun.  The low-hanging fruit of the comedy world.  So what.  I haven’t slept well since Thursday night.  Cut me some damn slack. :-)

Tomorrow?   The purchase of the ever-sexy anti-embolism socks that will prevent my blood clot aided death should I forget to get out of my assigned plane seat and “do laps” to stimulate my blood circulation.  I say wear the damn socks, get loaded, pass out and have a decent 18-hour nap with my sleepy mask and neck donut.  Seriously people.  I deserve it.

MISSIN MY KITTIES RIGHT ABOUT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

16 days, oh man.

Keiko jumped up on Patrick’s lap today! YAY! Life is good!

Sadness

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

I leave for Longmont tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m. I already miss my kitties but their Uncle Patrick is going to take wonderful care of them.

Sooooo busy having fun I forgot to blog!

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

Actually, that’s not true. I’ve been wanting to blog, just haven’t been in the right frame of mind or I get side tracked by the shiny object and forget what I was doing. Goodness. What a crazy 4 days it’s been. After dropping the Corolla off in Fort Collins and picking up the rental car at 9 on Saturday morning, the 3 of us made it exactly 45 minutes before Sam yakked up his brunch on the floor behind my seat. Lovely. Stop along side the road, clean it up, get back on the road, watch Keiko aim perfectly for my back pack as she coughs up a hairball and deftly shoots it into my backpack. Once more with feeling! Pull over to the side of the road, clean it up, back on the road. The rest of the trip can be boiled down to Sam crying for 4 hours at a stretch and me having some VERY heated discussions with myself over some life things I’m figuring out. None of which concern India because India seems to be the only thing I’m dead sure of at this point. Everything else is conveniently up in the air. Great.

After threatening to throw Sam out the window around Yakima, we finally made it to Seattle around 3 pm on Sunday. We unpacked the car and watching the cats circle with intent, then set off for a walk and sushi. The walks around here are amazing. Patrick lives about a mile from Possession Sound. I love listening to the gulls while laying in bed.

Patrick took me to Fremont, Washington yesterday. It felt like some good energy but like some other towns I know, was a bit askew from elitist behavior and too much money. I managed to get in to see a Reflexologist for a solid one hour session on my feet. Boy did I need it. She was AMAZING. About 30 minutes into my session, I felt like I’d been on the table for about 2 hours and got concerned, but at the same time, couldn’t have cared less. Damn, she’s good. I’m going back to Fremont today to look for some rose quartz. We’re also going to REI and for a walk on Jetty Island. The eagle nests out here are HUGE and quite obvious out on the Sound.

If anyone is going to be in the Seattle/Fremont/Everett area, the woman that provided me with an ultra-relaxing reflexology session is named Amy Goetz.  Go.  www.phoenixbodywork.com

Gotta go. More later.
